Asset forfeiture - Asset forfeiture is often used to describe the confiscation of assets, by the State, that were used to facilitate crime against people, property, or the State itself. Any profits or rewards that are the result of or suspected of being the result of criminal activity are also subject to asset forfeiture.
Declaration and forfeiture - In the sport of cricket a declaration occurs when a captain declares his team's innings closed and a forfeiture is when a captain chooses to forfeit an innings. Declaration and forfeiture is covered in Law 14 of the Laws of cricket.
Felo de se - Felo de se, Latin for "felon of himself," is an archaic legal term meaning suicide. In early English common law, an adult who committed suicide was literally a felon, and the crime was punishable by forfeiture of property to the king and what was considered a shameful burial.
